June Wedding in Tofino

This is LOVE!

So this is a follow up on the blog I wrote about the wedding of Eve and Mark on June 7th, I just got some absolutely stunning photos from photographer Chris Pouget and had to share them with you. The plan was to get married on the sandspit right in front of Frank Island, we had checked the tides and all was good for a 12 noon ceremony with Gael Duchene officiating, however the wind was a howling and guests and flowers were struggling to stay put. Amazingly alongside the rockwall of the beach was quiet and calm and with such a small wedding it was no problem to move the ceremony.

Good job I have my Boots on!

Flowers by Sandra in Ucluelet created a beautiful bouquet with calla lillies, just as the bride had ordered and beach vases with colours galore. These later were moved to the wine Cellar at Black Rock Resort for the small and intimate reception organized by onsite wedding coordinator Katherine Mjinke..

Prior to the wedding day Eve had her very first Pedicure and Manicure from Jodyn @ Nurture Spa in Ucluelet and was immediately hooked on being pampered—-look out Mark! Vanessa and Barb from Beautiful You in Ucluelet took their equipment and went to Terrace Beach Resort very early to cater to all of the ladies as they prepared for the Special Occasion and as you can see even with the gusts of wind Eve’s hair stayed in place—good job ladies! One of the special moments of the day was as I was driving the groom and his best lady–Mandy over the hill to Tofino just at that point where you get a glimps of Long Beach, Mandy was awestruck as she had never been here before but will be back for sure. After the ceremony the guests made their way back to Terrace Beach, where lunch was waiting to be served, catered by Andrew Springett of Black Rock Resort and I popped the Champagne, although we almost needed hot chocolate to warm up from the wind. Chris took the happy couple to just about every beach from Tofino to Ucluelet to  get a great variety of backdrops for the wedding story he was about to tell with many beautiful pictures. Enjoy!

  1. Thank you so much Suzanne for making sure we had a wonderful wedding experience! Your knowledge and help for making decisions, keeping me on track with all the details, making sure our day went smoothly, and taking care of our guests on the day of our wedding was invaluable. I especially appreciated your guidance and advice around how we should prepare the morning of the wedding – after being together for twelve years I didn’t think we could surprise each other anymore, however seeing Mark’s face as he saw me for the first time that day will be one of my most treasured memories.

Again, thank you so much for everything!

    Mark and Eve
